Photogaph of Bhim Sen's fireplace on the banks of the river Koel. This photograph was taken by Thomas Fraser Peppé in 1870 and is part of the collection of Sir Richard Carnac Temple. Descriptive notes by Peppé accompanying the photographs read as follows, 'The continuation of the same hills, and where the Koel river runs round their base, and at the point where the rock slopes down into the river, three large boulders block the path. These stones are said to have been collected by the popular hero 'Bheemsen' for his 'choola' or cooking place, which the arrangement of the three boulders favors, as they closely resemble the three stones used by travellers to rest their pots on while cooking'.
