Group portrait of the attendees of Lord Mayo's durbar at Ambala, seated beneath an awning. The heads of a number of the sitters (see in particular those in the right of the front row) appear to have been montaged onto the image. The sitters are identified as follows (from left): 'The Sirdar of Kulsea; The Nuwab of Muleir Kotala; The Raja of Kupoorthulla [Randhir Singh]; The Raja of Nabha; The Raja of Jhind; The Mah[ara]ja of Putiala; The Ameer; The Chamberlain of the Ameer; Lord Mayo; Seton Karr, secretary; General Beatson; [Abdullah Jan] Son of Ameer; Lord Napier of Magdala; Sir Donald McLeod; Sir W.
