Close-up view of an angle of wall of the Ramachandra Temple, showing sculptural detail and mouldings. Lyon's 'Notes to accompany a series of photographs prepared to illustrate the ancient architecture of Southern India' (Marion and Co., London, 1870), edited by James Fergusson, gives the following description of this photograph: '494 - gives in detail the carvings on the west and south sides of another small detached temple at the upper end of the same enclosure. It is of the same age and style as the last, but its base is even more richly carved and ornamented than the larger one.' Another copy of this print at Photo 1000 (3142).
