Row of men at work correcting negatives . Pencilled note by Murphy dated 25 May 1911 on the reverse of the print reads: 'Duffing Section. Now the largest section in the photo dept: This is the verandah where we used to dry negatives when you were in charge. It has now been enclosed in. These men are skilled glass engravers, corrections are generally made on the negatives now, & you would be surprised to see how well these are done - colour work is also only done by these men...Our duffing medium is ground by electricity, the machine is seen on the right of this picture.'
