Cousens describes his visit to Sunak in his progress report of the Archaeological Survey of Western India for December 1889 to February 1890: 'From Patan we proceeded to Sunak, a village about four or five miles west of the Unjha railway station. Here we found two old temples, one in ruins, the other in good preservation and richly decorated. This furnished us with several drawings and photos...'
