527. - Passing through the gateway shown in 526A a court will be found which extends round the whole enclosure : it will be at once seen that the buildings are elevated on a platform several feet above the ground level, and mounting the steps which are exactly in front of the entrance the mosque as shown in this view will be on the right. It is 105 ft long and 66 deep, and as before stated will make an excellent abode during the time which will be required to examine the ruins of this old and most interesting city.
