543. - On leaving the tomb of Mohamed Shah, and returning by the same road towards the citadel, a by-road will be seen to the right, leading to the Asar Mahal or Palace of Illustrious Relics so called from some hairs of Mohamet's beard said to be preserved here, this building was a mosque built by Mohammed Adil Shah, and contains a Library of Korans, &c., &c. The Relics are kept in a closet on the first floor on the right, and such is the sanctity they bestow, that strangers are not allowed to enter. The fine reservoir of water in front is 25 yards broad 60 yards long and 6 yards deep.
