'557. - This views shows in detail a portion of the Southern face of the temple. It is interesting to compare this Photograph with those of Bailoor and Hallabeed Nos. 470 and 472. In all three may be seen the same frieze of elephants on the base, immediately above them in this one is a scroll very similar to those sculptured on the Mysore temples, higher up is a row of figures apparently a procession, while above this again is the lozenge shaped scroll, which is also to be found at Hallabeed, but much more frequently and conspicuously on all the mosques at Ahmedabad as well as on the Jain temples at Palitana, to which latter also the carving on the upper portion of the façade of this temple much resembles. Above the lozenge scroll last mentioned and just beneath the larger figures is another pattern very similar to the fringe like cornice to be found at Bailoor, and does it not thus seem that this temple, situated as it is, appears to form a connecting link between the South and West.'
