563. - Gives more in detail the carvings on the minaret at the S.E. corner of this mosque, it also shows the two windows on the South side, as well as a portion of the interior, it will he at once observed that the roof is flat and resembles in every respect much more a Hindu temple than a Musulman mosque, and this may be said of all the other buildings which are to be found in the city. The truth is that though the Ahmed Shah dynasty occupied the throne, they never wholly subdued the rebellious spirit of their subjects, and certainly never converted them to their faith, and consequently the Hindu influence continued to be felt, and the mosques are Jain in every detail, though perhaps none of the others resemble quite so much an ordinary Hindu Mandap or porch as this one.
