View of the triple openings of the sluices feeding the tank, constructed from richly-carved stone, flanked by two columns similar in style to the bases of many of the mosque minarets in Ahmadabad. India Museum no. 1505. Received from Captain Lyon 7 February 1871.
614. - Another object of architectural beauty is to be found in the inflow and outflow sluices of the great tanks, that of the Kankariyah being here represented. It seems to have been a necessity of the nature of the people to make every object ornamental and if they could only have been taught to diversify their style in some small degree, their success would have been perfect.
