Genre: Portrait Photography
In a composition also known as 'The Fruit Sellers,' a group of men and women pose with baskets of fruit and other vegetable produce in the cloisters of Lacock Abbey. Larry J. Schaaf has identified several of the sitters as being in Calvert Jones’ employ, and suggests that this photograph may have been a collaboration between Jones and Talbot, taken on the same occasion as the portrait of Jones at print 9 of this album. Paper trimmed to image size, varnished and laid down on card 248 x 310 mm. Loose copies of this image can also be found at Talbot Photo 2 (324 and 714).
