Letter from Queen Victoria, Osborne House
- Scope & Content:
- Thanks Lord Canning for his account of his progress through her Indian Dominions. She has just seen Lord Clyde, looking very well, and speaking enthusiastically of Lord Canning. Lord Elphinstone has died. Comments on the birth of her second grandchild. No news has yet come about the Prince of Wales' visit to Canada. Britain and Europe continue to be in some alarm about Britain's neighbour. Fortunately the Germans, Belgians, and Volunteers in Britain are showing the right spirit. Sends good wishes to Lord and Lady Canning.
