Map found at folio 5 of the 'Report on the preliminary survey of the route for the Central Persia Telegraph Line', 1899.
The map shows existing and proposed telegraph routes across Persia [Iran], Afghanistan and Pakistan, bounded roughly with Teheran [Tehran] in the North West, Bunder Abbas [Bandar-e 'Abbās] in the South, Kurrachi [Karāchi] in the South East, and Quetta in the East. The following features are marked on the map:
- Central Persia Telegraph Line proposed route;
- Indo-European Telegraph route;
- Other surveys;
- Route surveyed by Mr Armstrong;
- Route followed by Mr W King Wood;
- Proposed diversion to existing line;
- Central Persia Telegraph Line unexamined route.
The map was printed by the Photographic Survey of India Department, Calcutta, as per the following printing statements: 'Photo. S. D. Calcutta', and 'Reg. No. 285, D. G. Tel. - May 99.-20'.
