The map shows a number of boundary lines converging on Meshed [Mashhad], originating in modern-day Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
It bears the printing statement 'Lithographed at the Surveyor General's Office, Calcutta, November 1877. The map was printed from an Original supplied by the Foreign Department.'
