Origin: Glastonbury, Southwestern England.
The Benedictine abbey of St Mary the Virgin, Glastonbury (Somerset), founded in the early 7th century: inscribed by John Merelynch (f. 191v: 'libellus fratris Johannis Merylynch de perquisito eiusdem'), a monk at Glastonbury in the 15th century who has also signed other manuscripts that he copied at the abbey (see English Benedictine Libraries, ed. by Sharpe and others (1996), p. 159). Probably once part of Harley 641, ff. 118-206, which was also produced at Glastonbury (see Ker, Medieval Libraries (1964), p. 91 n. 8; Watson, Sir Simonds D'Ewes (1966), p. 113 (A155)).
