ff. 1r-11r: A fragment from a cartulary from the Benedictine abbey of St Augustine, Canterbury, (imperfect), including: Pope Innocent III, confirmation of privilege given at the Abbey (ff. 1r-2v), beginning: 'Innocentius episcopus servus servorum dei Hugoni abbati monasterii Sanctorum apostolorum Petri et Pauli'; Pope John XIX, bull of c. 1027-1033, granting privileges to Cluny abbey addressed to the abbot Odilo of Cluny (ff. 3r-4r), beginning: 'Privilegium Iohannis Pape de cluniaco. Iohannes episcopus servus servorum Dei dilectissimo filio Odiloni abbati monasterii quod dicitur Cluniacum, in honore beatorum apostolorum Petri et Pauli'; epistle of the Emperor Henry IV to Philippe I of France, the text includes'Louis' instead of Philippe (ff. 4r-7v), beginning: ' Epistola misericordissimi Henrici IIII imperatoris ad Ludovicum regem Francie [...] Princeps Clarissime et omnium in quibus post Deum speramus amicorum nostrorum fidelissime'; Letter of the emperor Henry IV to the ecclesiastics, counts and princes of Saxony, following his deposition (1105) (ff. 7v-8r), beginning: 'Henricus Dei gratia Romanorum Augustus imperator archiepiscopis, episcopis ceterisque Saxoniae principibus'; lamentations of the emperor Henry IV to his son Henry V, in verse (ff. 8r-v), beginning: 'Versus regis ex regulo Pater Filio. Proli dilecte summo Pater exul in orbe'; a letter from Pope Paschal II to Henry I (ff. 9r-10v), beginning: 'Paschalis episcopus Henrico regi Anglorum salutem et apostolicam benedictionem'; correspondence of Callixtus II and Henry V related to the investiture controversy, including a letter from Callixtus II to the emperor Henry V (f. 10v), followed by Henry V's reply (ff. 10v-11r); an oath of obedience given by a bishop to the Pope (ff. 11r-v), beginning: 'Sacramentum episcorum Romane ecclesie subiectorum. Ego ille N. iuro per sanctam'.

Added, 15th-century excerpts from Bernard of Clairvaux's homily De Laudibus Virginis Matris (Sermon on the Praise of the Virgin Mother), written by two different hands, beginning: 'Semper solet esse gratiae divinae familiaris humilitas' (f. 11v).
