Four typescript versions of a text entitled 'The History of the Opera "Prince Igor"', in which Ernst Roth sets out his understanding of the extent of N. Rimsky-Korsakoff's and Aleksandr Glazunov's involvement, as opposed to Aleksandr Borodin's, in the composition of the opera 'Prince Igor', in the light of Boosey & Hawkes' dispute with Jack Hylton. With various extracts of relevance to the case taken from the writings of Boris Asafiev ('Complete Works', Moscow: Russian Academy of Science, 1954).

These papers were originally contained in their own distinct folder, a note on which recorded that one copy each (presumably of the revised version) was sent to Syrett & Sons, solicitors, F. E. Skone James and Lucienne Frochot on the 22 March 1953; a further copy was sent to Gerald Abraham on the 14 February 1958 and another to Frochot on the 11 December 1958.

The exact wording was as follows: 'The History of "Prince Igor – by Dr. Roth – (Revised Version) – 22/3/56 – 1 copy sent to Syrett – (for Skone James) – Maître Frochot – another copy to Frochot 11/2/58 – 1 copy give Abraham, 14/2/58 – RK 6/16 – 6 copies' and held in a packet marked 'KISMET – Dr. E. ROTH – 1) KISMET (CHAPPELLS) – 2) DOCUMENTS re KISMET – 3) FROCHOT/SYRETT correspondence – 4) BELAIEFF correspondence 1955-56'.
