- The news of British troops being driven out of Kandahar, and Meer Nusseer Khan’s contacts with the Ameers [Amīrs] of Upper Sinde [Sindh] to form an ‘anti-British league’
- A request from the Law Commissioner of India to the surgeon James Burnes to hand over any papers belonging to his late brother Sir Alexander Burnes
- A request from the Government of Bombay for information on the ‘quality of the rain which has fallen’ in Sinde, whether the ‘country is reported to be healthy’, and the ‘state of the Indus as far as relates to facility of navigation in this season’.
