- This part of the volume consists of a copy of an enclosure to a despatch from the Government of Bombay Secret Department to the Secret Committee, No. 97 of 1842, and contains material relating to the following:

- The dispute between Meer Nusseer Khan and his nephew Meer Hoossein Ali Khan, and the latter’s determination to leave the fort at Hyderabad
- The news of British troops being driven out of Kandahar, and Meer Nusseer Khan’s contacts with the Ameers [Amīrs] of Upper Sinde [Sindh] to form an ‘anti-British league’
- A request from the Law Commissioner of India to the surgeon James Burnes to hand over any papers belonging to his late brother Sir Alexander Burnes
