Political Despatch from the Foreign Department, Government of India, to the Secretary of State for India, No. 74 of 1871, dated 9 May 1871, containing an enclosure dated 20 February 1871.
The enclosure consists of a copy of a despatch from the Political Agent in Turkish Arabia [Ottoman Iraq] to HM Ambassador at Constantinople [Istanbul] relating to Wahabee [Wahhābī] affairs in Central Arabia [Najd], principally the challenge to the rule of the Sultan [Amīr] of Nejd [Najd] [‘Abdullāh bin Fayṣal Āl Sa‘ūd], by his brother [Sa‘ūd bin Fayṣal Āl Sa‘ūd].
The despatch was received in the India Office Secret Department on 8 June 1871.
