- View of a scuplture, Vajra (thunderbolt) at the Swayambhu Stupa, Kathmandu Valley, viewed from the north across the top of the staircase down the eastern flank of the hill to the valley floor below. The top of the stairs is immediately to the left of the Vajra and its guardian lion. A second lion is hidden by the Vajra's base. The structure in the background has been demolished but it can be seen in a 1854 drawing by Henry Ambrose Oldfield and in an aerial photograph of the site taken about 1960 from the Ganesh Photo Lab.
