- Scope & Content:
- View of Arya Ghat on the west bank of the Bagmati River looking north and upstream from the stone footbridge connecting the ghat to the Pandra Shivalaya shrines. On the right of the image are the river steps in front of the unseen Pandra Shivalaya. On the left, the large building at the end of the ghat was replaced by another of similar dimensions in the early 20th century which now serves as a hospice. In the lower left hand corner are the small stone shrines to Gangamai and Virupaksha. The staircase to the east entrance of the Pashupati Temple begins between the large building and the shrines. Corresponds to Photo 1424/3(26) (albumen print).
