Linge ping, a bamboo and rope swing constructed for the Dashain (Moshani for Newars) festival. Dashain falls from late-September to mid-October and is Nepal's longest (15 days) and most auspicious festival. It celebrates Goddess Durga's victory over evil Mahishasura. The swings are constructed by the community and are a traditional part of the festival. They can be more than 6 metres high and are enjoyed by both adults and children.
