The map tracing shows areas in and around the Residency in Aden flooded by a torrent from the Koosaf [Khusaf] Valley during a storm on 28 May 1870.
It indicates individual buildings and roads, with some individually labelled. Some topography is shown by grey shading. The map shows the four ‘heads’ the torrent divided into, with dark blue used to show the streams and light blue to show all the parts flooded.
The map is signed by H McDiarmid, Acting Executive Engineer in Aden.
