Fragments of varying size from a papyrus roll, reused for mummy cartonnage, and housed in two glass frames named Papyrus 579(1) and Papyrus 579(2). Writing runs along the fibres on the front; portions of 12 columns survive. Scattered on the back are few lines written across the fibres.
Papyrus 579(1) (a-b): Portions of 6 columns on the front, with part of the upper margin surviving;
Papyrus 579(2): Fragments bearing the feet of 11 columns on the front.
Upper fragment (e): Feet of 5 columns, with lower margin and blank to the left.
Lower fragment (c): Feet of 5 columns, with lower margin and modern annotation.
Small fragment (d): 5 lines from one column.
