OXENDEN PAPERS. Vols. I-VI. Original correspondence of Sir G. Oxenden. Vol. I has a number of copies of slightly earlier documents as enclosures in the letters, and Vol. VI includes numerous letters in Portuguese and a quantity of bills of lading for goods sent from London to India. Oxenden's letters are all drafts or copies.

In the beginning of Vol. VIII two letters of April 1664 "from aboard ye Richard & Martha," are added, one (f. 3) to James Ley, 3rd Earl of Marlborough, 25 Apr., the other (f. 4 b) to Matthew Andrews. X, XII have indexes of recipients of letters. Many of the letters provide the other side of the correspondence found in the rest of the collection.
