1231. Papyrus 1520
This is an interim version of our Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue while we continue to recover from a cyber-attack
Four seals of brown clay, detached from the papyrus rolls. Mounted on cardboard in a glass frame.
Medium-brown papyrus fragment, written on both sides. On the front, there are 22 lines from the top of a column, written along the fibres and abraded in places. The upper margin survives. On the back, there are portions of one column written across the fibres, of which 13 lines survive. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
A papyrus fragment bearing writing on both sides. On the recto there are three lines written along the fibres, with a large blank space between lines 2-3. The verso preserves three concluding verses with a subscription, written against the fibres. Mounted in glass.
Papyrus sheet, broken off to the left, with a detached fragment, damaged by holes and abrasion in places. Writing runs across the fibres on the front and along them on the back. On the front there is one wide column of 33 lines, all lacking the beginnings, with some blank space between lines 30 and 31; the lower margin measures 85 mm. On the back there are three lines and traces of other lines in the lower half. The seals that were attached to the papyrus have not been preserved. There are modern annotations on both sides; the number in red refers to the publication in P.Oxy. III. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
