Fragmentary papyrus sheet, lacking most of its left portion; the verso is dark brown. The text was written on the verso across the fibres, and continued with two lines along the fibres on the recto. The rest of the recto remained blank. On the verso there are 28 fragmentary lines. Papyrus 686e contains a few more letters of lines 21-23.
The papyrus is housed in a glass case.
