HOLME HALL PAPERS. A selection from the papers relating to the families of Constable of Flamborough, and Langdale of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, co. York, preserved at Holme Hall, and calendared in 1903 by the Historical Manuscripts Commission (16th Report, Various Collections, Vol. ii, p. 348). Included also are some uncalendared copies of state papers connected with Charles II's negotiations with the Scots in 1649. The manor of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor was for many generations in the possession of the Constables of Flamborough. It was purchased in 1633 by Sir Marmaduke (1st Baron 1657/8) Langdale from Sir William Constable, Bart., and in 1778 passed to the daughters of the 5th Baron Langdale, one of whom married Charles Philip Stourton, afterwards 17th Baron Stourton. Six volumes. 1518-1821. Presented, together with Add. Ch. 63734-63738, by Mrs. F. D. Harford, who also presented, in 1924, Add. Ch. 66599-66601, and, in 1925, Add. Ch. 66608.
