Two journals of travels made by Mary Cecilia Blencowe (1852-c 1929) shortly after the end of the Franco-Prussian war. Blencowe was born in 1852 in Northamptonshire. Her entries in the first volume begin in October 1870, and the last in the second volume are dated July 1872.

- Both volumes are autograph manuscripts. The first volume (1870-71) is the smaller of the two and is bound in the original roan which has worn away in places, including the spine. The second volume (1871-72) is an octavo volume bound with original half buckram boards.
