- Piece of ground abutting the Company premises to the east purchased from Samuel Thornton in August 1805 for 1,200 guineas. At the General Court Baron of the Manor of Stepney on 28 October 1805, William Ramsay, Robert Wissett and John Coggan were admitted as customary tenants in trust for the East India Company. In 1830 Coggan surrendered the land to the Manor, his co-trustees having died, and the land was granted to a new group of Company trustees.
