- Piece of ground on the north side of Poplar Hill adjoining the almshouses purchased in 1808 from Joseph Thornton for £1,650. At the General Court Baron of the Manor of Stepney on 26 April 1808, William Ramsay, Robert Wissett and John Coggan were admitted as customary tenants in trust for the East India Company. In 1830 Coggan surrendered the land to the Manor, his co-trustees having died, and the land was granted to a new group of Company trustees.
