MSS Mus. 367-370. Alan Bush Collection. Vols xlii-xlv. Draft short score, in pencil, with occasional annotations in ink; [1950]. The score is mainly written as a piano reduction, and is complete, with the following exceptions: the Prelude; certain pages of the Minstrel’s song at the start of Act II; the Interlude between scenes 1 and 2 of Act II; and Margaret’s song from the start of Act II, scene 3. In this score and the vocal score (MSS Mus. 371, 372), Act II, scene 3 is given its original designation of ‘Epilogue’. Both of these scores include an extended choral passage at the entrance of Wat Tyler in Act II, scene 2 (MS Mus. 369, ff. 70-2; MS Mus. 372, ff. 38-40), which is not found in the full score or printed vocal score.
