Thisvolume consists of Political and Secret Letters from the Government of India’sForeign Department to the Secretary of State for India, dating from January-February1876, usually followed by enclosures. The enclosures mostly consist of copiesof correspondence, and the items sometimes include abstracts of contents. Thedate the Letters were received by the India Office and answered is usuallyrecorded.
The volume includes:
pp 49-56, No 2. Diary kept by Munshi Qazi Sayyid Ahmad attached to Captain George Campbell Napier on special duty in Persia, during his stay at Kara Tappa, an Afghan colony on the Caspian. 14 January 1876 (the pagination refers to an original pagination sequence).
