- Letters sent by Edmund Candler to family members.The 1917 letters are from Active Service in the Middle East, from furlough in India (May - August) and on return to Middle East from Tigris Cape and Baghdad. The first two 1918 letters, dated March, are whilst Candler was still on active service. Letters July - December are when Candler was based in England either at Needham, Norfolk, or in London. The 1917 transcript is incompete, comprising of only the first 2 letters of 1917. There is an additional transcript of letter dating April 25, 1917. The transcript for 1918 is complete.
