- This contains all correspondence sent between Edmund Candler and other members of his family between 1884 and 1925. The nature of the correspondence gives indication as to the various locations in which Candler lived including insights into colonial Indian life, places he worked as a teacher and as a journalist, and his involvement in the expeditionary force to Tibet in 1903-1904. He lost his left hand during that expedition. There are letters from his time as a war correspondent during World War One in the Middle East. The letters also give some information regarding his own writing and his thoughts on others' books that he has read.
