- Scope & Content:
- Letters from Edmund Candler to family members. The early 1919 letters are from Constantinople and Kremskaya as well as from on board ship. The summer letters are from Needham, Norfolk. In September/October he returned to India and was based in Lahore. The 1920 letters are from India as are those from January to April, 1921. The 1922 letters are from Hendaye, France to where Candler and his wife, Olive, retired. The1919 transcript has additional draft outline of the year. The 1920 transcript has additional background, synopsis, who's who and places information. The 1921 transcript contains a letter dated 31/12/1921 from St. Jean de Luz, France, with news of Candler and his wife looking to settle in France. The original is not in the archive. There is no transcript for the1922 letters.
