Part of extracted correspondence relating to Florence Nightingale, folder of correspondence of Catherine and Mary Stanley to Charlotte Canning. Mary Stanley initially writes from the hospital at Koulali, and Catherine Stanley sends extracts from her daughter's letter from 25 Mar [1855]. She also reports Mary's safe 'escape' in Apr 1855. In England, Mary Stanley continues her correspondence with Charlotte Canning regarding the nursing situation and the administration of the 'gifts'. Letter of 23 Jul contains list of amendments for Selina Bracebridge. Letter of 6 Aug refers to Mrs Moore. One of the undated letters refers to not yet seeing Miss Salisbury, who has returned to England, and who was accused of theft. The other refers to nurse coming home invalided. Folder consists of:
