Primarily consists of correspondence with Benjamin Hawes, but also Lord Panmure, Sir John Kirkland, Lord Wodehouse and Charles A'Court. Includes details of arrangement for nurses, issues regarding recruitment including details of conditions being issued, payments, destinations etc. Includes discussion of separate establishment of military and civil hospitals.

Notes of issues relating to nurses, such as steamer leaving from Plymouth, A Vickers at the War Office is in charge of the Nurse Department, money has been lodged with Sir J Kirkland etc, undated. Possibly by Charles A'Court. Also includes note that letters addressed to the nurses can be sent free of charge if sent via the War Office.
