The manuscript contains a text which is incomplete. The first 83 leaves were extremely damaged by rodents so as identifying their content is difficult. The numbering of the leaves goes until the leaf 142; the leaves 121 and 122 are missing. The manuscript is in bad condition.

The text, entitled Pōkar Nikaṇṭu- 1700, concerns materia medica and preparations of medicines. Important salts for preparing medicines such as veṭiyuppu, kalluppu, etc. are presented as well as their proprieties as antagonist (catru) or synergetic ingredients (mitru). The drugs are classified according to the five elements which compose them: pañca cūtam, pañca mūla cērkai viparam, pañca lōkam, pañcapūtam and pañcaḷiṉ peyarkaḷ. The text explains as well synthesis (vaippu) of some medicinal products by iatrochemical process suc as cavukkāra vaippu, kalluppu kaṭṭu, cāra kaṭṭu, pūraṇa carakku and āṉanta kaṟpam.

Size of the manuscript: 41.3cm x 3.3cm. The first 83 palm leaves being extremely damaged by rodents, the numbering of the leaves goes from 84 to 142; the leaves 121 and 122 are missing. The manuscript contains also three blank leaves. The manuscript is in bad condition.
