In 1891, communications on the functions and services of the hospice recorded the following information: the sending of the annual budget and monthly expenses, monthly reports on the movement of patients and medical statistics tables, the sending of patient stay and payer lists, the sending of payment accounts for repairs carried out in the hospice and requests for the purchase of clothing for the patients. In view of the increase in the number of patients, a request was made for the purchase of a washing machine to improve personal hygiene. Approval of the budget for the improvement of the pharmacy and for the repair of a wall in the kitchen area was requested. Incidents are reported, such as the doctors' request to purchase the necessary tools for the use of the electrotherapy cabinet and the replacement of some pieces that arrived defective. Dr. Casimiro Ulloa's request not to receive any more patients until the infrastructure of the hospice is expanded is also reported. It was again pointed out that the hospice is not capable of admitting the patients that the Penitentiary refers to the institution, as it does not have the conditions to protect the order and safety of the patients. The inspector requests that the post of assistant doctor in the men's department be filled and proposes the following persons: Eduardo Sánchez Concha, Leónidas Avendaño and Manuel A. Velásquez. The death of Dr. Casimiro Ulloa is also reported, and it is requested that his position as head doctor in the women's department be filled. The annual report for the financial year 1891 is included. The last leaves of the file appear to have been added during a restoration process as they do not have any pagination.
