Scope & Content:

This sub-series contains handwritten transcriptions of administrative letters from the Correspondence Book of the Lima Insane Asylum for the years 1888 to 1899. Some transcriptions are summaries of the original letters. The book ends with the date 23 October 1899. On the cover of the book we read: "Correspondence Book of the Insane Hospice of La Misericordia. Reform of 1988. Correspondence copybook", and on the inside front cover: "General Correspondence and Reports Copybook".

Esta sub-serie contiene transcripciones manuscritas de las cartas administrativas del Libro de Correspondencia de los años 1888 a 1899 del Manicomio de Lima. Algunas transcripciones son síntesis de las cartas originales. El libro culmina con la fecha del 23 de octubre de 1899. En la tapa del libro se lee: "Libro de Correspondencia Hospicio de Insanos de la Misericordia. Reforma de 1988. Copiador de correspondencia¨ y en la portada interior "Copiador de Correspondencia General y de Informes".

Extent: 1 book containing 604 folios.

Size and dimensions of original material: 30.5 x 45 x 5.8cm.

Condition of original material: Abrasion on bottom and top corners of the backing. Pulverised and torn sheets, discoloured sheets, brittle paper, paper dryness.
