In 1901, the communications on the functions and services of the hospice registered the following information: the sending of the monthly budgets and ordinary expenses, the monthly reports on the movement of patients and the medical statistics tables. The number and income collected from pensioner patients who are treated on a monthly basis is indicated. The monthly payroll of pensioner convicted and prosecuted patients is recorded. The admission, medical leave, absconding, death due to various ailments and discharge of patients discharged and at the request of their proxies are reported. The medicines ordered monthly for the hospice by the apothecary sister are recorded. The medical staff and other employees ask the inspector for a special salary for the beginning of the 20th century. Dr. David Matto requests the purchase of a box of instruments for the extraction of molars; he recommends that patients referred from the prison and the quartermaster's office should not be admitted without their respective medical certificates. Doctor Leónidas Avendaño sends an estimate of the instruments and tools necessary for the operation of the electrical cabinet. The inspector sends the draft budget for 1902, in which he considers the hiring of two warders and the purchase of fabrics for the patients' clothing. He requests the oil painting of the walls of the dining room as it is convenient for cleanliness. Requests the Santa Rosa Company to install electric lighting and replace the gas lights in the asylum. Urges the renovation of the floors of the halls of San Vicente, San Andrés and the "cujas (insane holding cage)". Requests authorisation for the execution of the work to plug the ditch that crosses the dining room of the asylum. Note for the preparation of a budget for the repairs of the "cujas (insane holding cage)" hall, the contracting of two security guards and the purchase of a hose for cleaning; requests an increase in the monthly salary of the bookkeeper due to his multiple activities. Requests the purchase of tax-free tobacco as established by the supreme resolution of 4 July 1900. Urges the political authorities not to refer patients after 7 pm. For this year Lucas León signs as inspector. The financial year began in December 1900 and ended in November 1901.
En el año 1901, las comunicaciones sobre las funciones y servicios del hospicio registraron la siguiente información: el envío de los presupuestos y gastos ordinarios mensuales, los reportes mensuales del movimiento de los pacientes y los cuadros de estadística médica. Se indica el número y los ingresos recaudados de los pacientes pensionistas que son atendidos mensualmente. Se registra la planilla mensual de los pacientes penitenciados y enjuiciados pensionistas. Se reporta el ingreso, las licencias médicas, la fuga, el fallecimiento por distintos males y la salida de los pacientes dados de alta y a solicitud de sus apoderados. Se registran los medicamentos que la hermana boticaria solicita mensualmente para el hospicio. El cuerpo médico y otros empleados solicitan al inspector un sueldo extraordinario por el inicio del siglo XX. El Dr. David Matto solicita la compra de una caja de instrumentos para la extracción de muelas; recomienda que los pacientes derivados de la cárcel y la intendencia no deben ser admitidos sin sus respectivos certificados médicos. El médico Leónidas Avendaño envía un presupuesto de los instrumentos y útiles necesarios para el funcionamiento del gabinete eléctrico. El inspector envía el proyecto de presupuesto de gastos para el año 1902 donde considera la contratación de dos vigilantes y la compra de telas para la vestimenta de los pacientes. Solicita el pintado al óleo de las paredes del comedor por ser conveniente a la limpieza. Solicita a la Empresa Santa Rosa la instalación del alumbrado eléctrico y el reemplazo de las luces que funcionan con gas en el manicomio. Insta a la renovación de los pisos de los salones de San Vicente, San Andrés y de las “cujas”. Solicita autorización para la ejecución de la obra de tapado de la acequia que atraviesa el comedor del asilo. Nota para la elaboración de un presupuesto para la refacción del salón denominado “de las cujas”, la contratación de dos vigilantes y la compra de una manguera para la limpieza; pide el aumento del sueldo mensual del Tenedor de Libros por ejercer múltiples actividades. Solicita la compra de tabaco libre de impuesto como lo establece la resolución suprema de 4 julio de 1900. Insta a las autoridades políticas que no remitan a los pacientes después de la 7 de la noche. Para este año firma como inspector: Lucas León. El año económico empezó en diciembre de 1900 y terminó en noviembre de 1901.
