Contains details of two attempts to petition against Charitable Trust Bills in Parliament. The first (from 1852) is represented by a draft petition from the Literary Fund and press clippings from The Times and the second (from 1881) consists principally of printed letters from John Derby Allcroft, Chairman of the Committee on Charities. Also contains a letter on a similar proposal from Philip Henry Stanhope, Earl Stanhope, to Octavian Blewitt, dated 27 Apr 1869.
