Loan 96 RLF 5/6/16

Contains correspondence from Philip Charles Hardwick, William Frederick Pollock, [?] (at the Charterhouse), Frederic Ouvry on the appointment of William Nye as Collector of the Literary Fund, his bond, and his resignation letters from 1876. Nye was succeeded immediately by George Henry Leah (see Loan 96 RLF 5/6/15), who was himself succeeded by A A Ebborn in 1889. This file contains Ebborn’s bond, letters from Ebborn about his application and appointment, references from Ernest Arthur Blackwell Sanders, Harriet Leah, Henry Musker and Miss [?] Campion (all with additional copies), letters from Farrer and Co with respect to the bond, a letter from William Cooke and a printed notice by Arthur Llewelyn Roberts informing subscribers of Ebborn’s appointment. Ebborn’s 1912 letter acknowledging the Committee’s decision to dispense with his services is also included, as is a handwritten contents list by Nigel Cross.
