Letter regarding some papers, that were being sent separately, which the Viceroy wished Pelly to read before they met the following day.
The papers relate to the conduct of Lieutenant-Colonel Frederick Laing Mackeson in allowing his assistant surgeon to live with him in a state of drunkenness and of being a drunkard himself; as well as on the general state of Meywar [Mewār], the lack of inspections of the battalions there over the last two years and the steps being taken to address the matter.
