Letter regarding Major Charles George Gunning's appointment as Commandant of the Meywar [Mewār] Corps and outlining his credentials and references.
The letter goes on to request a report on the state of the Meywar Corps for Lord Northbrook.
The letter contains a note from Pelly recording that he replied to the letter 3 July 1873, which may be an error given that the letter was sent to Pelly on 19 July.
