- Cezario, slave, claimed that he wanted to work in favor of his emancipation, but his master, Marcelino José Rodrigues Castillo, did not allow him to do so. For that, he asked the judge to assign him a solicitor for the legal proceedings, and a trustee who would keep the amount of 700,000 réis that he had saved to buy his freedom.
