Correspondence to and from individuals and organisations with names beginning S-: a letter from Vita Sackville-West (dated 11 January 1937, in response to a request to set to music three poems from 'The Land'), Waldron Smithers, C. H. Shepherd, Herbert Sumsion, E. Joseph Shadwick, Albert Sammons, W. H. Squire, (with publicity), Martin Shaw, Alexander Scott-Gatty, Geoffrey Shaw, Arthur Sandford, R. Smith Brindle, Hilde Somer, Maurits Sillem, Uri Segal (dated 29 June 1972), Paul Sacher (1956), Mr. J. H. Squire of the Celeste Octet (correspondence 1929–1937, with reference to Hubert Eisdell and Dora Labette, Cyril Smith (pianist, with publicity material, requesting to play at a Boosey & Hawkes concert, 1 July 1933) and Willy Strecker. The first of four parts.
