31. Papyrus 1216
This is an interim version of our Archives and Manuscripts Catalogue while we continue to recover from a cyber-attack
Light-brown papyrus sheet, with writing on one side along the fibres; mounted on cardboard in a glass case.
A fully preserved sheet of a light-brown papyrus, bearing writing on both sides, the recto being written across the fibres and the verso along the fibres. All margins are extant. Housed in a glass case.
Fragment of a papyrus sheet, broken at the right-hand side of recto, with writing on both sides, mounted in glass. A larger fragment of the sheet, containing much of the missing right-hand side of the column, is preserved in Cairo under the inventory JdE 48980.
Two larger fragments that do not join, with two lines lost in between, and two scraps from a dark-brown papyrus sheet; writing is along the fibres on one side only. Margins are extant. The text, in the form of a double deed, is arranged in one long column; the two versions of the deed are separated by some blank space. The papyrus was folded up from top to bottom. Mounted in one glass case.
