Two unrelated fragments of papyrus, dark brown in places; both coming from the archive of Dioscorus; housed in one glass frame.

Left-hand side fragment: Papyrus 1737a: The recto is the upper left-hand corner of a papyrus sheet; written across the fibres. Well-preserved on the left and upper sides; probably folded from the bottom upwards and possibly from the right side towards the middle. The verso is written along the fibres and upside-down in relation to the recto; only a few lines are preserved followed by blank space.

Right-hand side fragment: Papyrus 1737b: Fragment from the right side of a document, written along the fibres. Probably folded at right angles to the fibres, but it is not clear in which direction. The back is blank.

A letter to Dioscorus of Aphrodito from an unknown sender about a troublesome shepherd who has been troubling Dioscorus’s tenants at the village of Mounkrechis; the writer was accompanying Menas the pagarch. The address is on the back.

Two non-contiguous fragments of a papyrus sheet, broken off at the bottom, slightly abraded in places and damaged by insect holes; writing runs along the fibres on both sides. On the front, there are 11 lines, with traces of another line at the bottom; upper and side margins survive. On the back there is one line written in the upper part of the sheet. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.

Conclusion of an acknowledgment of debt amounting to 24 solidi and undertaken by twelve persons, whose signatures survive; among these is Dioscorus’ father, Aurelius Apollos; there follow the witnesses’ signatures and the notarial subscription. The body of the document is lost.

Dark-brown papyrus sheet, incomplete, with writing on both sides. On the front, there is a column of 18 lines written along the fibres; the lower and right margins are extant, the left margin partly survives at the bottom. A strip of another dark brown papyrus was glued onto the back of the sheet and preserves the beginnings of 29 lines written along the fibres. Other fragments of this different document are Papyrus 0503 and a papyrus in Berlin, inventoried as 25080. Perpendicularly to this text, there are traces of one line belonging to the document on the front. The papyrus is housed in a glass frame.
